Daniel Sayer

I am a filmmaker and visual artist with over twenty years experience making feature documentaries, feature films and visual arts. I began making documentaries, significantly "21st Century Testimonies" an investigation into the life and death of democracy at the beginning of the century which turned out to be more than prescient. I shot and edited five historical feature documentaries about the history of Italy cities. After this I turned to fiction and have since made three fiction features, Madrigal 2002, an experimental film about three women in London attempting to find freedom. Hit the North 2012, a road movie set in the 1980s, shot in luminous black and white. And more recently Alba, a dramatic two hander about unrequited love. I have recently relocated to Leeds and have put on two exhibitions of my woodcuts and prints, the latest at Middle Floor, but am looking to contribute more to the creative community and have a wealth of talent and skills to offer. I am currently organising an exhibition at Left Bank in the summer of hundreds of drawings I have done of the people of Leeds over the last year.
